Mac's First Fiesta!

Fiesta Invite - 1"MAC ES UNO!"

I had the honor of creating a fiesta themed invite for the most adorable 1 year old I know! Knowing what an awesome party planner is mom is, I couldn't wait to see all the pieces put together, and as you can see Mac's Fiesta was nothing short of perfect - Mac's mom pulled out all the stops: a mariachi band, piƱata, AND maracas as party favors! I still can't believe this little man is already "UNO!!!"

From Italy to Austin | Our Study Abroad Reunion!

italy-to-texas-blog
FUN FACT: I studied abroad in Florence, Italy the summer before my senior year of college. Not only was the country beautiful, but the friendships I created were life long. This post is about those friendships.
Meet (from left to right, after me) Amy, Erica, Chelsea and Angela! Also known as MY ITALY FAMILY - I absolutely adore each one of these girls and am so incredibly blessed that our paths crossed in Italy over two years ago!

italy2011
Even though we don't live near each other, we still keep in touch via group text {don't know what we'd do without it}! Since the day we left Italy, we have always talked about having a reunion and we FINALLY DID IT! Since three of us call Texas home we figured it only mad sense to reunite in the LONE STAR STATE, and somehow it worked out that everyone decided to come to my humble {one bedroom} abode in Round Rock! 5 girls in a one bedroom apartment = ONE AWESOME SLEEPOVER, which is just what we needed!

Another fun fact: Chelsea and Amy had NEVER been to Texas! So the pressure was on to give them a Texas-sized welcome!

It just so happens that there is a small town about 20 minutes north of where I live in Round Rock called FLORENCE! And if that alone isn't enough, they have a vineyard in Florence... so, naturally, we had to spend an evening out there sipping wine, reminiscing, and catching up! It was absolutely beautiful. We couldn't have imagined a better way to spend our time together!

And of course I had to show them my favorite spots in Austin including South Congress, P. Terry's Burger Stand, Amy's Ice Cream, Santa Rita Tex-Mex, and Rainey Street. Everyone departed Sunday afternoon full and tired which in my mind = SUCCESS!

Southern Comfort Inspiration Board | Couple's Shower

My sweet brother and future sister-in-law's BIG DAY is approaching quickly and I am incredibly excited by all of the celebrating there is to do! One of my mom's best friend's, Pat, is hosting a couple's shower for Clay and Kate. I am overjoyed that Mrs. Pat has enlisted my help to create an invitation and help style the shower! The theme of the couple's shower will be "Southern Comfort," so I have been pinteresting away to find the perfect southern touches. I have been trying to keep an open mind to the fact that this IS a couple's shower *aka not just for girls WOMP WOMP.*  Although, I want to make everything cutesy, I am going to refrain from scaring away the boys.

So excited to put all of these ideas into action! (modified for the guys, of course.)

Trust Without Borders | Blog Renovation

My sweet friend, intern, and former teammate came to me requesting a new look for her blog! She had recently come up with a new name for it and wanted to see what I could come up with. Meredith has a huge heart for everything and everyone, but one thing that noticeably holds a special place in this girl's heart is the small Caribbean country of HAITI. This last spring, Meredith embarked on a mission trip to Haiti. Smitten by the children and country itself, she still thinks and talks about Haiti constantly. "Trust Without Borders" is the perfect title for the beautiful words and necessary reminders that Meredith has to share with us.

The one request Meredith had was that I incorporate a photo that she had taken in Haiti:

the nine to 5 - volume 3

This season I was tasked with creating a logo for our Susan G. Komen - Pink in the Park night. This was a fun project for me because I got to step out of the box a little bit! Here is the final product.

And here is the poster that we used to promote the event. I carried this look throughout all of the promotional material including our website, social media, marquee, videoboard, and various print graphics.

Home Sweet NEW Home

My sweet parents have moved.

l was tasked with designing a moving announcement to help them spread the word!

a new beginning:
Not many people can say that they have lived in the same house all their life. I can... well, I could until a few months ago. Our beloved home on Pine Hollow held an enormous amount of memories, when I finally got word from my parents that my HOME, the ONLY real home I have ever known, had been sold, I had very mixed emotions. I knew it was too big for my parents, I knew they needed something smaller and more reasonable for the two of them, but that was OUR home and I wasn't entirely ready to let it go. I couldn't begin to imagine driving down a different street, walking through a different door into a place unfamiliar to me and calling it "home." I might sound a bit ridiculous and unreasonable, but trust me, living in the same house for 23 years makes a new home hard to welcome.... but welcome it, I did.

Change is a wonderful thing, and when I finally began to wrap my mind around this I became excited about our new home! Let the memory making begin!

P.S. Stay tuned for plenty of before & after and decorating projects!!

#damnyoutarget

You can't tell me that when you walk into Target, you completely ignore the DOLLAR SPOT! I try to every single time, I tell myself before I even walk in "you need nothing in the dollar spot, don't even look in that direction" - it NEVER works. I always find myself strolling the aisle, filling my basket with things that I really don't need - BUT everything is just so cute and only $1 (or $3) - how can I pass it up?! I can't. so I don't. - so on that note, here are a few fun finds I picked up yesterday... let me apologize ahead of time if, after reading this post, you have the sudden urge to make a Target run.

You will soon learn that I am drawn to anything that you can write on, so these guys found their way into my basket in no time. How cute is that little lightbulb notepad?!
Lately, I have made a habit of buying gift bags, but only if the are on sale (mainly from Marshall's or TJmaxx), so when I saw this gift back for a buck, there was no turning back. No, I don't know what I will use these cute little pouches for, but YES! they are adorable so I will come up with something... eventually.

How awesome are these file folders? and only $1 for 3? a girl can NEVER have enough file folders, right? ...well at least that was my justification yesterday.

My obsession with Target doesn't end with the Dollar Spot, in fact my friend Tara has a whole Instagram account, of which I am a contributor, dedicated to her love of the red bullseye!
